In Fall 2022, The Arc of the Low Country (ALC), a Charleston-based nonprofit serving individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, launched South Carolina’s first-ever barbecue sauce competition focused exclusively on the sauce. With 21 small-batch sauce vendors and over 450 attendees, the inaugural Getting Saucy event crowned Nate's BBQ Sauce as Grand Champion.
Now, Getting Saucy 2 returns—bigger, bolder, and more flavorful than ever. Scheduled for September 2025 at North Charleston’s Wannamaker Park, this family-friendly fundraiser brings together top sauce creators, food lovers, and advocates for inclusion.
